The 2017 Agave Amateur will be held December 19-22 at Shadow Hills Golf Club near Palm Desert, California. The Agave Amateur will be a Scratch Players and World Amateur Golf Rankings event and we are proud to be sponsored by Under Armour. The Agave will be 54-holes with no cut (weather permitting). Included in the entry fee is all three rounds of the tournament as well as the practice round on Tuesday, December 19. The Agave is an established national golf championship event per NCAA rules.
A player is exempt if he meets ONE of the entry criteria below AND submits a complete application (with payment) by DECEMBER 5, 2017. This is an Open Amateur tournament and the player must have a handicap index of 3.0 or better. Any player who meets any of the standardized criteria below may enter the open amateur tournament.
1. Top 250 in closest ranking to November 1, 2017, in the 2017-18 Men’s Golfweek Collegiate Rankings or Golfstat Rankings (DIVISION I)
2. Top 1500 players in Scratch Players World Amateur Golf Rankings
3. Top 1000 players in World Amateur Golf Rankings
4. Top 1000 players in Golfweek Amateur Rankings
5. All 2017 champions of major men’s state amateur and mid-amateur championships
6. All participants in the men’s 2017 US Mid-Amateur, USGA Four-Ball, and US Amateur Championships
7. All male amateur golfers with a handicap of 3.0 or below.

1. Print out the attached paper entry form. Entries will be filled on a first-come, first-serve up until the entry deadline of DECEMBER 5.

Wednesday, December 20: First Round 8:00 am start off of #1 tees
Thursday, December 21: Second Round 8:00 am start off of #1 (same groupings)
Friday, December 22: Final Round 8:00 am start off of #1 (re-pair to score)

All participants are responsible for their own transportation to/from the event. Palm Springs International airport is approximately 25 minutes from the course. Plan all departure flights accordingly as no changes will be made to starting times for flights.
CARTS: All participants will be provided carts and this is included in the entry fee. Caddies are allowed but will have to walk and may not ride on the back of carts. Spectator carts will be available on an as-available basis.
CONDUCT and ATTIRE: Golf spike policy of Shadow Hills Golf Club is in effect at the time of the championship. Proper golf attire is required. Golf shirt must have a collar and either pants or golf shorts are required. All headwear must be worn forward. Any act of unsportsmanlike conduct–including but not limited to: cursing, throwing clubs, damage to the golf course, or other are prohibited. Disqualification with no refund is possible at the sole discretion of the tournament committee.
PACE of PLAY: We ask that the first two players who hole out proceed immediately to the next tee and hit when ready. Walk ahead and save time when possible. In the practice round, no more than one ball should be played to the green. Play as fast as possible. If you are holding up play during the practice round, you may be asked to leave by the Shadow Hills/Agave Amateur staff.
WITHDRAWALS and REFUNDS: All paid entries are subject to a $125 handling fee at all times. Refunds minus $125 are available up until December 10, 2017, when there are no refunds for withdrawal or no show for any reason.
WAITING LIST: A waiting list will be formed after the entry deadline of December 5th. Credit cards and checks WILL NOT be cashed until a player is confirmed entry off of the waiting list.
